We offer a number of asbestos seminars which can be delivered at clients’ premises and adapted to suit the particular requirements of the audience.

Asbestos Awareness for Contractors
This classroom-based ½ day seminar provides background information on asbestos, how to identify it and what to do in the event that it is encountered on-site. The legal content is explained, what contractors responsibilities are under the CDM Regulations with reference to recent case studies.
It is suitable for site operatives and contractors involved in refurbishment, construction and demolition projects.

Managing Asbestos in the Workplace
This course covers history of asbestos, how to identify it and discusses the legal responsibilities that dutyholders have with regard to this potentially hazardous substance. The seminar includes a step-by-step guide on what to do if asbestos is  located in workplace premises.
It is suitable for employers, landlords, maintenance staff and H&S professionals.

Asbestos Remediation
This course is designed to give asbestos operatives advanced instruction in repair, removal and disposal techniques. The training involves desk study and practical modules.

Managing Asbestos for Social Housing Refurbishment
This specialist seminar explains impact that planning for asbestos at the initial stages can have on reducing costs, programme inconvenience to residents. Topics include: techniques to minimise damage to properties during surveying and removal; clarification of exemptions re non-licensable work; changes to guidance on waivers, key aspects of HSE guidance (HSG 248, HSG 264 and ACoP L143) that relate to social housing projects; best practice in removing external asbestos.

Managing Asbestos in Healthcare Environments
½ day course during which expert presenters explain about the legal responsibilities to manage asbestos, the impact that planning for asbestos at the initial stages of building projects can have on reducing costs and programme while minimising inconvenience to staff, patients and visitors.

Delegates learn: How to prepare an asbestos management plan; legal responsibilities for managing asbestos; how to reduce costs and delays to programme; typical places in healthcare premises that asbestos is found; how to plan surveys and removal works to minimise disruption; techniques to minimise damage during surveying and removal; how to interpret survey reports; latest HSE guidance on  exemptions for non-licensable work, waivers and workplans; managing communications with staff, patients and the public and emergency plans.
