Clifford Devlin recently visited HMP Springhill, a category D prison in Buckinghamshire, as part of an initiative aimed at addressing the skills shortage in the demolition industry. This visit was in partnership with the National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) and the National Demolition Training Group (NDTG) under their new programme, ‘Break down barriers to your new career.’

For over two years, Clifford Devlin, in collaboration with Number 8 agency, has been actively engaging with prisons across London and the South East.

The latest push from the NFDC and NDTG underscores the significance of this ongoing work, highlighting the crucial role it plays in providing opportunities for individuals to reintegrate into society through meaningful employment.

Representing Clifford Devlin at the event were Rebecca Redmond, our Business Development Manager, and Peter Mader, our demolition apprentice and the NFDC Apprentice of the Year.

Peter’s journey from a Category D prison to a career in demolition provides invaluable insights and inspiration, reinforcing the impact that such initiatives can have on transforming lives.

‘’Feedback from trainees was overwhelmingly positive, with lots of discussion of new demolition careers and aspirations. With every training session, we’re changing lives and fortifying our industry with talent. Find out more about this initiative – 🔗 – https://lnkd.in/e2ufVCDP’’ – National Demolition Training Group.
