Clifford Devlin is fully committed to the professional development of its staff through a holistic programme of training and instruction which ensures that they have the skills to carry out their tasks and responsibilities in a competent and safe manner.
We have implemented a systematic approach to training and staff development which enables us to create a motivated, skilled and effective workforce and aids staff retention to the mutual benefit of Clifford Devlin and our customers.
The recruitment of staff and subcontractors involves a skills and competence appraisal – Training Needs Analysis (TNA) which is carried out by our HSQE Department. A training plan is prepared by our HSQE Department and maintained for each member of staff which includes a schedule of regular formal refresher training that covers health and safety and vocational/discipline-specific skills.
Competency of staff is maintained throughout their career using internal and external refresher and other skills training. In-house training is typically delivered by a member of the Health & Safety team and can be theoretical or practical i.e. classroom or site-based workshop. External refresher training typically delivered via our memberships of the NFDC and ARCA.
All our staff in the Asbestos Division receive refresher training through an ARCA-accredited training provider and likewise our demolition training is organised via the National Demolition Training Group (NTDG).
