This project focused on improving fire safety within a residential block by installing fire penetration seals and carrying out fireproofing works in key areas. The aim was to enhance safety standards and ensure compliance with fire regulations.

The work was carried out across several areas in the building, including 45 flats, one of which was a two-storey unit. The service areas involved were four service cupboards and four storage rooms, while communal areas included one office, one recreation room, and four corridors.

The fire-resistant seals were installed around pipework in multiple areas to prevent the spread of fire. These seals were applied using high-quality materials from Quelfire, ensuring long-term safety. A full report was prepared, and sign-off was completed after the work was inspected.

In addition, fireproofing upgrades were made to the building. Fire-resistant panels were installed above the fire exit doors at the ends of eight corridors. Forty-five old riser cover panels were replaced with new fire-resistant ones, while special pipe collars were fitted to plastic pipes in service risers to contain potential fire risks. Fireproof materials were also used to seal around ductwork in the risers.

The third-floor corridor saw the removal and replacement of its dropped ceiling. Openings were added for lighting cables, and smoke alarms were reinstalled. This work was carried out on a floor with no lift, requiring careful planning and execution.
