New Recruits Bolster Commercial Team

To help facilitate the company’s planned growth strategy Clifford Devlin has engaged the services of experienced personnel to strengthen its capabilities in commercial management, site management and surveying.

These include Commercial Manager Derek Aslett and Senior Quantity Surveyor, John Harding, who have both joined the company from the Chorus Group and between-them boast over 60 years in the construction sector.

“Derek and John were specifically selected because of their background in major contracting work and their experience in delivering projects of significant value,“ said Managing Director Tim Clifford, “Our target growth for year ending March 2017 is ten per cent. We currently have over a third of that workload either secured or already on site being delivered.”

Derek Aslett is Clifford Devlin’s new Head of Commercial. He has joined after a spell as Financial Director of BW Interiors. Derek has a background in accountancy and over 25 years experience in the construction sector having acted as Finance Director at both Galliford Try Partnerships and Chorus Group. He will be responsible for supervising commercial processes and procedures of the company which include assessing and interpreting commercial risks, budgeting and forecasting.

Senior Quantity Surveyor, John Harding, brings over 40 years  experience of managing commercial aspects of projects for some major names including Costain, Lovell, Laing, Bovis, W Long, Balfour Beatty and Chorus Group . He will have hands-on responsibilities for managing commercial elements including supply-chain arrangements, procurement and preparing individual cost plans, valuations and variations as projects progress.
