Spreading the Word

19th March 2019

Clifford Devlin has teamed up with asbestos consultancy Global Environmental to deliver the Association for Project Safety’s (APS) annual spring CPD seminar roadshows. Paul Clarke-Scholes and Fergus McCloskey will be delivering sixteen half-day seminars entitled “Latest Techniques in Managing Asbestos” in venues across the UK in the next 3 months.

Topics include:

  • Dangers and risks of asbestos
  • Various forms of disease - latest stats from HSE/IOSH etc
  • Impact of mesothelioma including personal stories
  • The legal implications and dutyholders’ responsibilities
  • Asbestos management plans for refurbishment and maintenance
  • Enforcement and consequences of mismanagement of asbestos including case studies

The offer to present the APS’s annual programme of CPDs follows a successful webinar to APS members which Paul and Fergus jointly delivered in October which covered the commercial context of asbestos management.

“The webinar was a great success,” commented APS’s Membership Services Officer, Rebecca Eunson, “Two hundred and thirty-eight attendees tuned-in which is a record for this type of APS online event and demonstrates that asbestos is still a significant and current issue in construction health and safety.”
