Building the Team

9th October 2018

The development of Clifford Devlin’s in-house commercial team continues to gather pace with the addition of Senior Surveyor, Brendan Budden, to the company’s Building Division. Brendan joined the London-based firm in June 2018 having spent the previous 19 years in various surveying roles since arriving in the UK from South Africa in 1999.

As Senior Surveyor Brendan takes an active role in managing all of the commercial aspects of project-work undertaken by the Clifford Devlin’s Building Division. His responsibilities include: Review and management of contract-related matters, contribution to procurement and tendering, subcontract resourcing, processing of change-control requests and financial reporting throughout the lifecycle of building projects.

Derek Aslett, Head of Commercial for Clifford Devlin commented:
“Brendan’s experience, commercial acumen and well-deserved reputation for attention-to-detail makes him a perfect fit for the core of our Building Division which focusses on commercial refurbishment and Cat-A and Cat-B fit out.”

Clifford Devlin’s medium-term strategy is to target sustainable, incremental growth for its Building Division through the development of close, long-term strategic relationships with a number of key clients.

Derek continues: “Working alongside our Head of Building, Martin Doble, Brendan’s ability to communicate and work closely with his counterparts in the client’s project team will be key to the delivery of our partnering approach. This will promote customer satisfaction and most significantly lead to repeat business,”

Established in the early 1990’s to provide specialist services to support complex demolition projects, Clifford Devlin’s Building Division has now developed into a multi-disciplined, stand-alone service capable of delivering complex, high-end commercial refurbishment and renovation schemes.

Its fully-inclusive service has the capabilities to undertake the full range of disciplines involved from enabling works to structural alterations, fit-out, decoration and external repairs.  Clients include: Landsec, UBS, Colliers International, Johnson & Johnson, Canada Life and Trident Building Consultancy.
