Asbestos Division achieves seventh consecutive Gold Award for training

Clifford Devlin, one of the London’s most established asbestos removal contractors, has been awarded a seventh consecutive Gold Award for training from the industry trade body, the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA).

The accolade recognises competency in the specialist field of asbestos removal. Twenty three of Clifford Devlin’s asbestos supervisors and operatives attended courses throughout the year at ARCA’s training facility in Rayleigh, Essex which are designed to maintain and develop their skills and knowledge of the discipline. The Gold Award, the highest available, recognises Clifford Devlin’s staff in achieving an average 95.2% pass mark over the course of the year.

Tim Clifford, Managing Director of Clifford Devlin, commented:
“ARCA’s threshold for achieving the training gold standard has risen with the increased expectation of better standards within the industry. We are therefore very proud to have maintained our level of competency which gives our clients assurance of the professionalism, reliability and excellence they can expect from our asbestos management service.”

Clifford Devlin has been a corporate member of ARCA since 1986 and has developed a close relationship with the industry body. Tim Clifford is currently a member of ARCA’s Governing Council and has also served on the Association’s Training Committee. The company was also an early adopter of its Site Audit Accreditation Scheme, introduced in 2002, which independently evaluates and validates the standards of its members.

The Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA) is the leading trade association in the field of asbestos management services. It was formed in 1980 to support the asbestos removal industry in the UK.  During its 37 years in operation the Association has seen many changes in working procedures and legislation. Membership has grown considerably from the original four founder members. The trade body now has over 260 members throughout the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
